Had a great time at Strike Theater tonight. Great show by James Rone.
It’s #ArtAWhirl weekend in my neighborhood in #Minneapolis . I usually skip but I haven’t been since pre-Covid, so I went to check it out.
It’s huge! Crowded! So many food trucks!
Quincy St is closed to cars btwn broadway & 15th. Why can’t that be permanent?
The art studios were lousy with suburbanites so they clearly found parking. Anyway, I hope the artists rake in a bunch of money
Both events are in or around Art-A-Whirl Weekend.
"Art-A-Whirl is the largest open studio tour in the country, which happens annually throughout Northeast Minneapolis the third weekend of May."
On Saturday night, going to see The Co-Op Wars at Casket Arts Cinema.
This is a documentary film that tells the little known story of the 1970s food wars in Minneapolis. A conflict so fierce that cars were bombed, workers assaulted and co-ops on the West bank occupied over by Maoist activists.
I'm intrigued.
