@joel Love working on old computers and seeing what I could do with them! I tried installing Linux on all my old devices a few years ago and it was fun trying different distros. The one that worked with the oldest tech I had was 
#antixlinux with #XFCE.
I think I've finally graduated from #linux college.
I've got an old Sony Vaio with 2gb ram and a piss-poor CPU. I tried everything on it. #openbsd, #alpineliux, #tinycore, #antixlinux.. but at the end of the day, it's just slow. So I settled on Alpine with no graphical session. I've been living in the TTY for about 2 weeks now and I gotta say.. who needs a GUI?
With #tmux as my window(pane) manager, I'm able to do everything I need it to.
Spent a bit of time with #antixlinux to make it look less nerdy and intimidating, and something I might be able to give to a "normal" person to use.
For about 100m of ram on boot and 32 bit, this is great.
I'm having way too much fun doing a #32bit distro hop on #Linux
I'm trying and benchmarking all the distros yall suggested and going to write an article comparing them all.
Currently just amazed by #antixlinux that's chilling at 97m of ram! Wow
"Meine" #Flüchtlinge können sich freuen, denn ich habe 5 Computer geschenkt bekommen, die ich privat wieder auf Vordermann bringen werde. Nach der Reinigung und Prüfung der Hardware werde ich mal ausprobieren, wie #PuppyLinux oder ggf. #antiXLinux läuft. Ansonsten versuche ich es mit #LinuxMint.
3 Flüchtis haben schon Interesse bekundet. 
Mit den Computern können sie Schreibkram erledigen, sowie nach Jobs und Wohnungen suchen.

What would be a good #Linux distro to put on a PC with 256mb RAM? I'm currently eyeing #antixlinux but I'm not quite sure about it.
Dug out my "worse piece of tech", the HP Mini 210-1100 netbook (1GB ddr3, Intel Atom, 1.66 GHz, 250GB HDD). It was a gift–I remember using it and the dreaded lag/frustration with Windows 7 Starter kinda drove me insane. Haven't used it since 2010. Until today that is! @codemonkeymike #nixOS (and future updates) will fit in 16GB? I'd imagine a few browser updates and generations and space would be gone.
I've upgraded 2 CB's myself. One I replaced the 8gb drive with a 128gb drive and it's currently got #voidlinux. The other I left a 16gb drive in and have #PeppermintOS currently, #antixlinux previously.
