the ideology thing and enforcement in woke circles can be culty, but it lacks the figurehead. I mean even Bernie got derailed as being not woke enough for going on Rogan and having Bernie Bros. (he called open borders a Koch brothers conspiracy for cheap labor) since then, he seems to have fallen in line.
I just did another post arguing for #AltRight instead of #MAGA. I think that's much more similar to #wokeism.
We fucked up in using the term #MAGA. They're #AltRight. That term/movement came first. Going back to that makes it more clear that #Trump did what nearly every politician does, run up to the front of a parade already in progress and pretend to have been leading it all along. And MAGA also lets him claim the right to decide what "making America great again" means. Instead of defining nationalism (what they call patriotism), they are just an ideological subset of a subset of what our flag means.
As Evan Hurst notes, Vera Papisova spent a year dating alt-right men to find out what makes them tick (this is so difficult to figure out?) and ended up comculding that on the whole they're “erratic, violent and incapable of managing their emotions." But, get this, "we" are somehow responsible that they're that way, since "we" have pushed them into isolation.
