I'm convinced something's not right with #voidlinux suspend/resume. Does mate-power-manager conflict with elogind? I do have:

[Login]
HandleLidSwitch=ignore

in /etc/elogind/logind.conf

It seems to start the freeze for sleep process, but then the laptop actually sleeps before it finishes those processes, do when you wake it back up, it's killed the WiFi after it resumes then after a minute or two, fixes itself.

Anyone know how to fix this? Nothing meaningful in /var/log/messages, sadly.

Installing #VoidLinux is one thing, but documenting it is key. I'm working on #dracut hooks to automatically create and sign the #unifiedkernelimage. I've already done #FullDiskEncryption (including /boot)

The best thing is that i can lookup most of the stuff on the #ArchLinux #wiki (except #systemd stuff). I like #runit, though i'm not used to it yet.

I can also fix or reinstall the OS how much i want because of my separate /home partition. This level of customization and control is so cool.

I'm already excited to #automate the base system installation using #Ansible.

My first thought, which i also posted about, was to automate the installation of #ArchLinux using #Ansible. After a bit of working on the #playbook, i chose to try #VoidLinux instead of Arch Linux. From what i've read void may be exactly what i want. #Diy but more stable than Arch ( i know arch is as stable as you make it ).
I'll give void a try since it has all the packages i want and advertises itself as being a stable rolling release.

Muchas gracias

Over the past month, I've finally ditched windows, installed #Bazzite, then #Fedora 41, then #Debian testing, then Fedora 42. For all but Debian I set up my machine completely.

For someone who likes to tinker with my system in learning the hard way that these OOTB systems aren't really designed to be tinkered with, at least not under the hood.

I still maintain a #VoidLinux machine and it's been the most stable of all my systems. But Fedora is growing on me slowly. Flatpaks and all.

I think it's about time I ditched Arch Linux for Gentoo. Arch has gotten easier and I've gotten bored with it. Once I've settled to Gentoo, I'd have Void Linux scratch my "Arch Linux" itch

I mean, I've already explored Linux distros with different inits. I don't think anything can stop me when I have Arch, Gentoo, and Artix wiki handy
