Hey #TampaBay area handy folx! I am actively looking into starting a local “popup” Repair Cafe that could be hosted at least monthly, probably in rotating locations around the greater Tampa Bay area.

I’ve been trying to find something along these lines where I could volunteer but there don’t seem to be any active groups. So - I am willing to be the wrangler for this! However, I am basically a hermit and I don’t have a network of local folx who might be able and willing to join me.

If you are in the greater Tampa Bay area and handy with fixing stuff*, and you would be willing to occasionally spend a day** helping our community extend the life of their stuff, please reach out to me?

Mildly interesting: my socks always fail on the big toe on the right foot (which is a size larger than the left one).

My headset band was starting to peel, thought I'd cover it with crochet. Used bulky yarn, gave it a contrast stripe... accidentally made something that looks like a flower crown? Not my intent, but... sure, ok, I'm wearing a flower crown to meetings now. Who's gonna stop me?

Not bad. I was going to do some other embroidery, but this came out at a smaller scale & much tighter coverage than i was originally planning* so I think I’ll just leave it as is

Manchmal geht auch was schief. Hier z. B. hatte ich einen Denkfehler und deshalb funktioniert das Muster nicht. Der Versuch, es rückgängig zu machen, hat es noch verschlimmert. Aber ich habe noch viel freie Fläche und viele bunte Fadenreste. Mal sehen, was sich daraus ergibt.

Recent attempt at #VisibleMending on a T-shirt of mine that developed a few small holes. Not perfect, but I really like it! This shirt was planned for the trash pile until I recognized the opportunity for some mending practice, so yay!

Hopefully it stands up to washing okay...

Some recent mends!

I ran out of good tv and have been revenge-bedtime-procrastinating on audiobooks, so switched my tv time to audiobook-and-mending time and have nearly exhausted the stack of socks.
