Another one of my beloved childhood movies, endlessly played on WSBK TV38 in Boston on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the #80s .

Yule Brenner is incredible in it, and everything about it makes it a perfect movie, including the music. A great score by Fred Karlin.

I’m sure it was probably pretty good, but I’ve never seen a second of the HBO series.

Very cool used bin find today, and a completely different sounding experience than the original.

This was Faithfull’s masterpiece, and if you’re super familiar with it, listening to this version may be a bit jarring. It’s not better, it’s not worse, just… different.
This was Marianne’s preferred mix of the record. It’s definitely a great comparative listen.

k.d. lang - Ingénue

Given this came out in 1992, and only on CD back then, that was the only exposure I had to it...and even in that form it's always been a favorite.

What I didn't know is that it was recorded analog, and we've now got a one-step "Because Sound Matters" release. It's a great example of how great LPs can sound when care is taken all the way through the process.

A little sibilance (especially on the 2nd track), but overall, magnificent.

I have scoured the world, literally from my bed, and located a very decently priced copy of this LP. Even with shipping from Singapore it is a comparative bargain. Ordered, paid for, and on its way.

Teenager me would definitely have considered this magic. Part of me still does.

Settling in for the night with one of the most underrated John Williams scores. Just super classy.

As a film, The Eiger Sanction is one of the most underrated Clint Eastwood movies that NEVER gets talked about. I saw it so many times as a kid, that the music from it is etched in my mind forever.
See it if you haven’t.
