Carrying away the spoil...

A very small detail of the #ViewOfTheExcavation, the most distant figures, all in fine #SplitStitch and with #SeedStitch clouds of dust.

I really think that this is going to work. It works better from further away, and I still need to work out how to mount the gauze and whether I need to tweak what I put on them.
But here is Nefertiti, hovering in imagination over the excavation of the city her husband built.

While the Amarna Royal Family settle into their new frame, I've got the View Of The Excavation mounted.
These two are still unsigned, but after an afternoon with the staple gun, I'm in no mood for stitching!

Inching ever closer to being able to plan that exhibition!

I decided that the work in progress was so crumpled, I couldn't see what was what, so I washed it and hung it up to dry while I went for a walk.
Looks really happy, right?

When I came back, it was raining. Sigh.

Good news: I am pleased with this figure, with the shadow and highlight.
Bad news: everything else displeases me, and I don't know what to do to change that.

Unpicking again!
I love Cable Plait Stitch, but here it was too reminiscent of the tortured stitch I've just taken out.
Back to my stitch dictionaries!

Adding highlights and shadows has certainly helped make sense of the bags.

I am concerned that the colour of the Knotted Cross stitches may be wrong. So I have to stop and look again in daylight.

It's only just occurred to me how subtle are the difficulties of this random #SeedStitch. It has to look random, but humans are good at spotting patterns, we make patterns almost by accident. And on top of that, as I am often reminded - random processes clump, so something truly random might have patterns in it anyway!
