"To cap it all, Tony Blair had just published a report on climate policy that even his best friends might consider to have been “unhelpful”. Tony is a former politician who is unable to go gently into the dark night. Eighteen years after stepping down as prime minister, he still yearns for relevance."

That man and his institute are desperately trying for relevance and it's embarrassing.

The Guardian · Starmer and Blair poles apart, an open goal at PMQs. Did KemiKaze score?By John Crace

#KeirStarmer's response to #TonyBlair's unashamed #fossilfuel lobbying yesterday – #TonyBlairInstitute is funded by #SaudiArabia, Azerbaijan and others (not mentioned in Guardian's lead story) – is so asskissing fawning it's as if TBI wrote it.

Just before key elections where Labour are under real threat from the Greens, he could have distinguished himself from an AI & oil lobbyist. Instead he clicks heals with a 'yes boss' salute.

I try to stop moaning about him but he keeps dragging me back.

Is anyone really surprised that Tony Blair, who sold out Labour to make them more tolerable to big business and the Murdoch press, and who jumped on the Bush Iraq crusade with glee, should suddenly show support for the fossil fuel industry?

He's a self serving scab.
