> Son of a Gun: What to Do with a Legacy of (Unwanted) Firearms texasobserver.org/son-of-a-gun

This may be of interest for some: what happens when a family member has guns, and guess what, you are inheriting them. Now what? In my case, I have at least one family member who owns guns but my guess is they likely will have their children inherit. Whether the kids keep them or not is another story.

The Texas Observer · Son of a Gun: What to Do with a Legacy of (Unwanted) FirearmsI love my dad; I don’t love his guns.

As I keep saying, that surplus population ain't gonna reduce itself.

Oh, and who are the assholes suing: "The plaintiffs in this case are four individuals and two small businesses that have religious objections to the requirement that insurers and group health plans provide coverage for PrEP. "

Yes, fucking religious nutjob #Christofascists

SCOTUSblog · Court to hear challenge to ACA preventative-care coverage - SCOTUSblogThe Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on Monday in yet another dispute over the separation of powers. The case is a challenge to the constitutionality of the structure of a relatively obscure section of the Department of Health and Human Services. But although the issue may sound like a technic

We're the baddies. The US has joined the baddies.

The despot, dictator, authoritarian says to you 'I need to take your right in order to protect you', he says it's an emergency (shorturl.at/V0iXc), defies the courts, and then never gives those rights back.

This is followed by 'I need to stay in office indefinitely because no one else can protect you like I can.'

And human basic rights are no longer deemed important.

The Trump regime removed items from list of human rights abuses that is reported on annually... because America would end up on the list if they didn't.

The report will be delayed while it is retcon'd. No longer listed:

- Denying freedom of movement and peaceful assembly
- Retaining political prisoners without due process
- Restrictions on "free and fair elections."
- Involuntary or coercive medical or psychological practices
- Arbitrary or unlawful interference with privacy
- Serious restrictions to internet freedom
- Extensive gender-based violence
- Violence or threats of violence targeting people with disabilities

I am not surprised the shooter was son of a cop and used one of the cop parent's guns. Queue up how wonderful a kid he was, his civic good deeds, etc. because it #SoundsAboutWhite. Oh btw, other cops only wounded him.

> Taking a mental health leave from work is an option most people don’t know about
apnews.com/article/mental-heal

Sure, if you can afford to take the time off because these leaves are pretty much unpaid, good luck.

And then there is actually getting mental health care. Good luck if you need to find an affordable, accessible therapist.

Oh, and do you really want your employer knowing this about you?

I am a US citizen (at gunpoint) but a colonial, so I say I have odds of getting deported. People who know me say "nah, you're fine." I can point to this story. She was born in effing Pennsylvania.
