It’s been quite a ride, although not exactly the one I expected. I was hoping to go beyond the 100 day mark all the way to my half marathon race, but life has a way of making you the joke’s punchline. It’s been quite a journey painting these quick little 10 minute scenes with a limited palette. My goal was to loosen up and paint more freely without stressing about the outcome, and I accomplished it. Along the way, I’ve discovered how much I enjoy painting big, bold skies full of movement. I’m more confident interpreting reference photos now, and I think I’m starting to let go of fussing over the tiny details. I’m excited to start painting larger pieces again!
