Every week, as my way of doing my part for the Tampa Bay tech scene, I assemble a list of tech, entrepreneur, and nerd events happening in and around the Tampa Bay area. I publish it on Global Nerdy, the technology blog I’ve been publishing since 2006.

Here’s the list for next week!

In their annual end of the year trip to #Florida, the #Montreal #canadiens beat both the #panthers yesterday (4-0) and the #tampabay #lightning today by a score of 5-2. Last time they won both like that was in 2009…

These were back to back games where Dobes was in goal yesterday and Samuel Montembeault today. No PPG goals tonight, but Laine did get an assist 5 on 5.

In their last 6 games the #habs have won 5 and have scored at least 4 goals in all of them. #nhl #hockey #hnom @hnom

This may be paywalled, but the Tampa Bay Times has written an editorial why they didn't plan on endorsing a presidential candidate this year. It reeks of "obeying before being asked," but there is also some good reasoning. I depend on the Times for local candidate information, and they do an excellent job of that (I don't simply go with their recommendations, but I use their information to make my decisions for races I don't know much about). They claim that their coverage of local races takes a lot of resources, and that this coverage is more important to the readers of their publication. I would agree with that. Still, one can take the same argument and look at the presidential race through a local lens - how will this race affect our communities? How might we vote practically (in a normal race) to be better served by the federal government?
