@willbuckingham, I picked up my copy of _Tâigael_ today, and I also downloaded the #Taiwanese audio from the website. For Tâi-gí language learning, I plan to use these for listening input (once I get to the point where the material is more comprehensible for me) and for spoken output shadowing.

For anyone learning Taiwanese (Tâi-gí), Scottish Gaelic, Mandarin, or English who might want to use _Tâigael_ as a resource:
- The book contains 4 short stories, each translated into 4 languages. There are 5 written translations provided for each story: Taiwanese written in Pe̍h-ōe-jī (POJ) romanization, Taiwanese written in Chinese characters, Scottish Gaelic, Mandarin written in Traditional Chinese characters, and English.
- The website has free audio of each story in 4 languages: Taiwanese, Scottish Gaelic, Mandarin, and English. The audio files can be downloaded.
- ISBN: 978-1-9993764-2-0, taigael.com

I was thinking about 流浪
And I learnt that the proper translation is 'vagrant' and this is the first time I heard of the word, so I wonder how often first language English speaker ue this? We in #Taiwanese use 流浪 a lot, here is a famous folk song describing a young man wander to old Taipei area,Tamsui, and try to make a living

Governments identify dozens of #Android #apps bundled with #spyware
#BadBazaar and #Moonshine, which have been previously analyzed by cybersecurity firms and digital rights nonprofit #CitizenLab, were used to target #Uyghurs, #Tibetans, and #Taiwanese communities. These two spywares hid inside legitimate-looking apps, acting essentially as “trojan” #malware, with #surveillance capabilities such as access the phone’s cameras, microphone, chats, photos, and location data.

We're so excited to have all the stories and translations in from our Tâigael project, bringing together writers from #Scotland and #Taiwan, writing in #Gaelic and #Taiwanese

We're hard at work on the book, but there's a sneak preview on the project website.
