So, #TheMidnight, a popular (read: genre-defining, seminal, prototypical) #synthwave group, is coming out with a new album, #Syndicate. Alas, all of the promotional material and singles for it, so far, have been either on their website (the LP) or on platforms that only offer streaming and/or DRM downloads, with the exception of #Qobuz and #BeatPort, which offer non-encumbered, DRM-free #FLAC downloads. So, that's where I got the track (Qobuz). It comes with a warning though:

>Certain works may be withdrawn from the service for legal reasons, such as a revocation of rights. The titles purchased will then no longer be available for re-download. Download your purchases quickly.

I originally heard about Qobuz and BeatPort after numerous people kept pestering them for making announcements through the #BandCamp platform while never actually putting anything on BandCamp. It turns out, their latest label doesn't allow them to put stuff on BandCamp. Thankfully, they were at least transparent about this (after much pestering):

But seriously, this kind of shit, in 2025, is fucking annoying. Death to the streaming model.

Our Darkness – Die 100 besten Songs zwischen New Wave & Gothic laut Radio Eins (rbb)

It’s Bandcamp Friday! If you’ve never checked out the music I’ve been making since 2017, now’s your chance to put 100% of the sales in my pocket 🤙🏻

But I have a story I want to tell, of an earlier Twitter around 2019-2020, when I released Ride Eternal, and my album hit the number one page of Bandcamp darksynth for about two hours

And then, nearly out of the blue, a famous synthwave artist on Twitter calls me a he/she/they when speaking about me, I call him on it, he doubles down, I don’t back down on standing up for myself, either.

This caused a wave of harassment, people cutting me off, internet streaming radio blocking me, my label ghosting me, which to this day, he’s still nowhere to be found online.

Two right wing trans girls spoke against me, a popular artist condemned me, and I lost opportunities I might have had. I now understand this happened because I was making too much noise, and too many waves.

But I’m still gradually making music today, and you should definitely check it out.

I've been listening through some old Synaptyx tracks and finding a lot to love, so I've created this remastered collection of 10 tracks with more to come...

It's my birthday in three weeks, so this collection is my gift to you and will remain as Name Your Price for the whole month of August 2025. Thanks for following me and thanks for listening! I appreciate it more than you can know!
