Sydney had such great Japanese places back then. Maybe still does, but I particularly remember the ones during my few years in Sydney in the early 2000's.

One downstairs in Bank St (? or close by), one upstairs somewhere around the same area. Uchi Lounge.

The 2 noodle places up the hill, that only catered to Japanese and had amazing food near the old church somewhere off the main CBD shopping areas, towards the rocks, turn left and climb.

The Japanese shop in Edgeworth and the one in a back street of The Rocks, for essential Japanese ingredients.

I don't know of any really good Japanese groceries in Adelaide. Let me know if you do.

Its such a shame the city of Sydney doesn't appreciate that the elevated train station at the quay is an incredible asset for the city. The view from the platform is 10/10 (i can't bring myself to use the word 'iconic', but if there was ever an appropriate use for it...) and the facade has its own sleek 1950s charm that pairs well with the AMP building and generally contributes to the area.

By all means refurb the retail and turn the cahill into a park (or take the deck off completely) but for godsake spare the station!

I take comfort only in the knowledge they will never have the money to realise their ambition of putting it underground and i dont see the state stumping up for such an extravagantly pointless project any time soon either.

Upon noticing several people looking at him. The gentleman on the train playing music from his loudspeaker on tge otherwise silent train LOWERED THE VOLUME instead of turning it off. WTF?
