Faraiwe<p>While I am at it.</p><p>Bluetooth is single channel shit. MCAP reduces sound quality. Hiccups in pairing mean your listening is riddled with enough breaks to cause cringe.</p><p>Any codec after Dolby TruHD and DTS-HD Master is fluff. Anything over 7 channels + subwoofer is basically marketing.</p><p>"BUY BUY BUY!!!"</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/SurroundSound" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SurroundSound</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/HomeTheater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeTheater</span></a></p>
Faraiwe<p>Lukewarm take:</p><p>Soundbars are piss-poor excuses for surround sound systems.</p><p>NOTHING can adequately project sound from behind and around you but actual individual speakers behind and around you.</p><p>L+R speakers must be at least 6-7ft apart for you to properly distinguish sounds.</p><p>Any opinions to the contrary is either by people who have only had soundbars, or truly shitty excuses for surround sound systems.</p><p>Thanks for your time and attention.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/SurroundSound" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SurroundSound</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/HomeTheater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeTheater</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Speakers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Speakers</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StereoDad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StereoDad</span></a></p>

ℒӱḏɩę :blahaj:<p>The Blue Man Group's AUDIO album is one of my favorite multi-channel high res 192/24 audio albums that I have. The mix itself, the incredible highs, the insanely rich base. Completely independent tracks written for each speaker. It's unfortunate that 5.1 music never really caught on, though I am happy that most live concerts recorded today are in 5.1. <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/highdefinition" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>highdefinition</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/highresolution" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>highresolution</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/SurroundSound" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SurroundSound</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Surround" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Surround</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>audio</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/dvdaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dvdaudio</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/sacd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sacd</span></a></p>

Devin Prater :blind:<p>Okay y'all, I hit the jackpot again! So I have the OnePlus 13 phone, and Earfun wireless earbuds. So I was trying surround sound playback on the AAC Multichannel Playback Test page from Fraunhoffer, and while the OReality audio doesn't use the surround sound channels, the Spatial Audio option does! So yeah, while the OnePlus doesn't have Dolby Atmos, it does support surround sound emulation. Lets see an iPhone do that! :) </p><p><a href="https://tweesecake.social/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> <a href="https://tweesecake.social/tags/audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>audio</span></a> <a href="https://tweesecake.social/tags/SpatialAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SpatialAudio</span></a> <a href="https://tweesecake.social/tags/surroundSound" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>surroundSound</span></a> <a href="https://tweesecake.social/tags/OnePlus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OnePlus</span></a></p>

Halo<p>Today I learned that my <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/hearing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hearing</span></a> / <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/AuditoryProcessing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AuditoryProcessing</span></a> isn't getting worse - it's that <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/TV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TV</span></a> shows and films are now increasingly likely to mix their <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>audio</span></a> for <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/SurroundSound" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SurroundSound</span></a>, where the dialogue track is intended to come out of the speaker close behind you, so they tend to put it really quiet in the mix. Hence why I need to put subtitles on to follow dialogue on shows, but I never used to. Which is... bonkers, because who tf uses surround sound? Aren't we all streaming on our laptops?</p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/TIL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TIL</span></a></p>
