Lucy and I went to a cooking class at my building today. To be courteous, we just stayed in the dining room area and observed. I didn't think people would appreciate potential dog hair in their food if she was in that kitchen. The cooking class is focused on healthy food on a budget. That would have been fucking tragic because $daughterUnit would have turned him into pasta sauce before the $dog that weighs as much as I do could get a nip or two in.

Last week, I went to Washington DC for a family vacation. A nice night out with my wife was ruined when an #Uber driver refused my seeing eye dog. We had to argue with the driver, get out, wait ten minutes for another ride, file a report, and speak with a case agent. In the end, Uber only refunded my ride and closed the case without telling me the outcome of my complaint. I was out with my service dog at the mall today, browsing the pet aisle. I gave Lucy a couple "leave its" to remind her not to sniff the treats. Some guy witnessed this and said "Is torture part of the training? ... 
I was so caught off guard. I ended up just saying, "I don't think it's torture, and she is also getting rewarded with treats from my treat pouch". The guy commented said she's a good dog and walked away. I guess at least he gave us a compliment? #ServiceDog

When your baba climbs a wooden tractor so you have to loudly yell until they help you up too 
We’ve been dealing with some major teenage brain lately. It’s been very hard to find the motivation to train as everything feels hard, and just helping him exist in the world is like a full time job right now. Sjiriki is also not feeling great, which doesn’t help either. He’s got some pretty bad growing pains, which are (understandably) making him cranky and easily frustrated, plus he still has the occasional Giardia flare up (though those are thankfully getting less and less intense with each treatment). We’re trying to mostly focus on doing fun low pressure things, and I’m doing training together with my mom to both keep Sjiriki more motivated (he has some major FOMO so if Maya is doing something he wants to also do that thing
), and to keep myself from spiraling at the smallest setback. So we’re surviving! But I am already very much ready for this whole teenage phase to be over

Please don't let your children harass service dogs. I had an anxiety provoking experience at the dollar store today, where a toddler followed us for minutes, repeatedly poking my service dog and petting her despite me pulling her away repeatedly and telling the kid we had to go now. Dad was there and did nothing, thought it was funny.
Going to try to prepare a mental script for if something like that happens again, because I was caught off guard and initially froze out of anxiety. #ServiceDog
