How am I only learning about mini_httpd now? Obviously not the most ideal for multi-site hosting, but still very cool!
@iFixit (or anyone) would you happen to know if it's possible to remove the battery from a newer smartphone (say, a Samsung S20) and have it run only from power coming from usb? (End goal: run a phone as a server without the risk of an old battery exploding).

Ich hatte ja vergangene Tage bereits in meinem Blog auf die OpenCloud als Nextcloud-Alternative hingewiesen.
@Lioh hat dazu ein Video gemacht und erklärt in diesem ganz wunderbar und leicht verständlich, wie sich OpenCloud per Docker installieren lässt.

The hype I am seeing for "refurbished" or "renewed" hard drives for NAS usage seems like false economy to me. These drives need to be a heaps cheaper than they are to be the bargain that youtubers and tech blogs are saying they are. Some of these drives have in excess of 10,000 power on hours. It's been spinning for over a year and you're paying 80% of the original price?!

Hey Rust + Bevy developers. I'm hoping you can help me out 
I'm really interested in backends for games, as in a multiplayer server, with the ability to scale out by increasing the number of servers. In .net I use the Orleans actor framework, which can dynamically handle scaling, but I feel less connected with my code when so much of it is handled by the framework.
Plus I would love to do something bigger with rust.
Can you help point me at some docs or crates or anything about server options? Any thoughts would be appreciated! I love the idea of ECS, but I'm not sure if that is something that would be usefully applied to a cluster.

Anyone have any advice on a OPEN SOURCE systems/network monitoring tool that isn't #Zabbix or #LibreNMS ? I'm already running those two.
#Nagios is still "half payware", and I'm at a point in my life where I don't need to be editing 400 different configuration files, one for each server/router/etc., so that's Right Out.
Ideally, it'd auto-discover hosts on the network, present them to me in a list, and allow me to configure them via a web client.. just like Zabbix and LibreNMS do.
Why do I want a third monitoring solution? I have my reasons.
So, anyone have any recommends? I'd like to be able to graph uptime, network traffic, CPU and RAM usage, etc. and do it in pretty graphs. I'd also like to be able to do it without spending

Mit meiner lokal gehosteten Nextcloud bin ich nicht immer zufrieden - vielleicht sind meine Ansprüche dabei auch zu hoch, vielleicht bin ich zu nörgelig - mag alles sein. 
Jedenfalls hatte ich mich vor gut 2 Wochen schon nach einer Nextcloud-Alternative umgeschaut und diese auch gefunden: OpenCloud!
Eine schnelle, schlanke Cloud, die sich ebenfalls gut selbst hosten lässt. In OpenCloud integriert ist auch Collabora Online, draw.io, Tika und ClamAV, außerdem ist die OpenCloud Open Source.
Wer meinen persönlichen Erfahrungsbericht über die OpenCloud lesen möchte und diese selbst installieren/testen mag:

Microsoft erkennt an, dass es Kunden gibt, die On-Premises-Installationen benötigen. Die sollen dafür aber tiefer in die Tasche greifen.
US-Clouds unterliegen US-Recht – egal, wo die Server stehen. Der Zugriff auf Daten kann jederzeit angeordnet werden, auch außerhalb der USA. Der Rechtsraum kennt keine Landesgrenzen und lässt sich nicht einzäunen.

Any recommendations for EU based providers of hosted Mastodon instances for organizations? Initially the need is for only a few accounts with very moderate amounts of posting.
I know of a few providers, but it would be good to know about their differences as well as sensible selection criteria for choosing a provider.
