@muminitaly Under Peter Murrell, nobody within the #SNP could be promoted if that had enough talent to challenge the leadership, or if they differed from the leadership line in any way. And the SNP was not prepared to take part in any campaign it could not dominate.

And a final thing to this thread: if John Swinney had just a smidgin of national pride, common sense or courage, he'd be saying to Ed Milliband "there will be no more planning consents for any infrastructure related to interconnectors or new generating capacity in Scotland until we have pricing to electricity consumers in Scotland which fairly represents the benefit to England of all the cheap green energy we're providing you with."

@thecommongreen if I wanted to make a freedom of information request to discover:

1. How long, in duration, was the longest continuous period since January 1 2023 during which the net flow of electricity between Scotland and the rest of the UK was inbound to Scotland?
2. During that period, what was the total amount of electricity transferred to Scotland?

To whom should it be addressed?

Today I look at what it means for people in Scotland, and the questions that need to be asked ahead of next year's Scottish election. bylines.scot/society/can-disab #disability #ScotPol #TakingThePIP

Bylines Scotland · Can disabled Scots trust Labour? - Bylines ScotlandWhat does the progress of the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Bill at Westminster mean for Scotland?

"The row has reignited a longstanding debate over whether the Barnett formula – in use since 1978 – is fit for purpose, and whether it should be reformed or scrapped in favour of a universal needs-based approach."
