@tinoeberl

A list of up to 21 Seattle schools are slated for potential closure.

I'm getting word from activists at the school meeting that a crush of interested parents, students and activist are present.

Most can't even fit in the building. The meeting hasn't started yet but security is threatening the crowd due to anti-closure chants they want to stop.

I see a self involved thread on Story Points and most saying they're evil (which is fair enough), and the OP saying they'd never seen anyone treat them as anything but a measure of time. And in estimating, time is always a thumb in the air.

I've rarely acknowledged SPs even when they were used because they were always too big or too small and no-one ever seemed to know the difference.

When confronted with them if there wasn't sufficient detail I'd say whatever the largest SP could be.

@JeremyMallin @actuallyautistic Classifying natural things is hard. Just look at the mess of reclassifying Pluto. Also anyone familiar with taxonomy knows the difficulties too. But the human brain has its own problems on top of that. For one, much of our evidence is subjective and thus difficult to nail down or confirm. Also is the problem of human egos (self image) getting in the way.

That being said, and I'm no expert either, what I do know is that sensory issues can exist for people with #autism , #ADHD , #sps (sensory processing sensitivity), and #spd (sensory processing disorder), and perhaps more. It's a long, messy process figuring out ourselves while we wait for science to do the same.

I’ve fallen in love with a new show: «Sugar». It's visual Jazz, shot and edited like satin and tipping hats walking by.

At the end of episode 3 («Shibuya Crossing» 00:30:59) the soundtrack intertwines w/ the editing, the spaces, the scenes … and on a meta level too: the title of this track.

I was just getting started to do some real design work again … an then this happened: Chilly Gonzales Masterclass about «Das Model» youtu.be/_3DqtHRRrFY … and I was in tears 😭 thanks to my #SPS (sensory-processing sensitivity).

Hours later I’m still trying to find the perfect cover version of «Das Model».

Mr. Mangs is very close w/ his rendition → youtu.be/hL2AQBXvg4c

Sidetracked by #AuDHD with #music.

The emails and web pages sent to parents since last year about “well resourced schools” — including as recently as the first week of this May! — have used such vague and snooze fest language that most parents reading them would assume most everything is fine and few to no closures are needed. Many parents are shocked by the closure plan. Burning trust with parents is a good way to lose enrollment!

Seattle Public Schools is really going to suffer from cutting off HCC and advanced academics. Seattle private school applications are through the ROOF right now because of this. SPS will end up losing students, losing funding, and slip into a precipitous decline even worse than it is now.

(my kids both go to public, my wife teaches in public… we’re advocates for public education but none of the current SPS policies will result in positive outcomes for public education)

Why it took 49 years for me to #discover this great #artist?

I've heard a lot of #music in my life, music is my fuel. My nourishment. My #AuDHD with my #SPS relying on music. And it makes me me.

Today I am enthusiastic again (SPS) to feel a strong happiness, close to euphoria, while this new discovery plays on repeat on my speakers. Loud.

There is music out there to discover and fall in love.

Thank you, artist.
