I suppose it depends on how she's using it as an everything database. But search in Photos is fantastic. And if it's must be accessible from mobile devices it's even trickier. </p><p>I reverted to my pre-cloud photo process. Everything is on a hard drive and I use digiKam which is free/libre software. It's an excellent app but does not provide anything close to Photos search. </p><p><a href="https://social.coop/tags/ThrowingBigTechToTheCurb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ThrowingBigTechToTheCurb</span></a> <br><a href="https://social.coop/tags/ResistBigTech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ResistBigTech</span></a><br><a href="https://social.coop/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a> <a href="https://social.coop/tags/Google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Google</span></a> <a href="https://social.coop/tags/Microsoft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Microsoft</span></a> <a href="https://social.coop/tags/Amazon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Amazon</span></a> <a href="https://social.coop/tags/Fascism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fascism</span></a></p>

Tim W RESISTS<p>What critical online infrastructure is begging for disruption, either via decentralization or just giving non-megacorp alternatives? We've got Fedi, we've got Signal, we've got Tor (all of which also need/deserve support, of course). What do we need next?</p><p>Akamai/Cloudflare replacement? Facebook/LinkedIn? (Are they worth replacing? Does Fedi already do enough?) Something else? <a href="https://union.place/tags/ResistBigTech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ResistBigTech</span></a></p>
