A few days ago, @icemanfr75 likened the Crompton-Leyland electric vehicle to a Reliant Robin with four wheels. Yesterday I posted the Reliant Ant commercial. Today’s pick, the 1970s/80s Fox pick-up, is both a four-wheel Reliant and a commercial. The Fox actually originated with a Greek licence builder of Reliants but production switched to the UK in 1983. This one, seen at the NEC Classic Motor Show in 2024, has a Tandy camper body conversion.

I’ll return to the topic of British EVs in a few days but first, a look at some Reliants. Meet the 1967 Reliant TW9, or Ant, commercial. Like the small Reliant cars of the time, this was a three-wheeler, but with heavier duty construction. The link to yesterday’s Brush Pony is that some TW9s were used as milk floats - although several other adaptations were available, such as tippers or refuse collection versions.
