Generally speaking, in cryptography (that <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/radicle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#radicle</a> relies on), it's pretty destructive to lose a private key and there isn't a way to recover from that. It is recommended to set up repos with at least 3 delegates (2 delegates have the problem that if one key is lost, you can't reach quorum for further changes to the repository identity). You might want to join <a href="https://radicle.zulipchat.com" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank">https://radicle.zulipchat.com</a> and the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/support" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#support</a> channel there for more details.

Zack WeinbergI want to like <a href="https://hackers.town/tags/Radicle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Radicle</a>, but upon skimming the documentation this morning, I found:<ul><li>Permissive licensing for the code. This is an unforced tactical error. A project like this ought to be using the AGPL. Yellow flag.</li><li>"We intend for Radicle to help with the proliferation of open source AI models" in the FAQ under large file support. Large file support in general is a desirable feature for a "forge", but thinking that AI models can be meaningfully open source and that their proliferation is desirable puts this project on the wrong side of history. Another yellow flag.</li><li>Further down the FAQ page, under financial/organizational support: "Radworks, the organization that has been financing Radicle is organized around the RAD token which is a governance token on Ethereum." This is a deal-breaker for me. Not only do I have zero confidence in "governance tokens" of any kind as a sustainable funding model, it means the project as a whole is fellow travelers with multiple people and organizations who are even more on the wrong side of history than the LLM crowd.</li></ul>I'm hereby calling for a hard fork by some furries who know what's what regarding all three of the above.
