Pixelmator updated this afternoon, which broke a really basic funcion that I use to navigate around the layers in the document ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

Is it a bug? Is it a new "feature?"

I just put in a support ticket. God knows if it goes to Pixelmator support staff now, or disappears into some Apple black hole.

I AM SO UNUTTERABLY SICK OF SOFTWARE UPGRADES THAT DON'T DO ANYTHING USEFUL AND JUST BREAK SHIT.

Pour essayer de me débarrasser de mon abonnement à #Photoshop, j'ai testé #Pixelmator Pro. J'avoue que le logiciel est pas mal, mais j'ai surtout regardé les fonctionnalités que j'utilise le plus, à savoir la correction des anomalies (pour enlever les poussières), le recadrage non rectangulaire (donc des côtés de différentes tailles et pas parallèles), et l'export web avec des tailles choisies :
- le dépoussierage marche super bien
- le recadrage non rectangulaire n'est pas proposé
- l'export web propose le webp, mais on ne peut pas personnaliser la taille d'export
Bref, pas convaincu.
J'aime pas Gimp, une autre piste ?

Pixelmator won me over from Affinity for most of my image editing.

@null #pixelmator - that was interesting software consideration about 15 years ago when I wanted to replace my photoshop with something under 50 bucks retail price. But they discontinued my version and Macs/Appstore sucks at maintaining backward compatibility. is it still any good with further versions?

I’m skittish about the prospect of ending up a GIMP user. Pixelmator is a staple in my Mac’s dock and Photomator for quick photo editing on my iPhone.

I don’t know whether to be happy or sad that Apple bought #Pixelmator. I bought the Pro version years ago and I wish good apps such as this remained independent. I think any scenario where Apple doesn’t keep Pixelmator going as a standalone app is a net loss, even if say it makes Photos better in the process.
