In my network I run a few services, some of them are on tailnet, some of them aren't. My clients are mostly on tailnet, but some aren't. I don't have DNS server for local name resolution - I just use <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/headscale" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#headscale</a> DNS extra records to point clients to most important services. Now, I want <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/pihole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#pihole</a>. How to make it available for both Tailscale and non-tailscale clients? Am I reading correctly that I'll need another DNS server to resolve local names?

Eoin O'BearaI just found this Raspberry Pi 3 starter kit I got for my son a few years ago. He never used it. Any suggestions as to what I can build with it? Big Georgeok, so my work to get closer to being more 'decentralised' as far as tech goes, gets closer to the end. * self hosting my family mail including calendaring and contacts * self hosting files and pictures * self hosting DNS * self hosting VPN.All using opersource of course.Biggest challenge was setting up the local and offsite backups and making sure that it is all actually recoverable - lots of testing...So what should i focus on next ? Jiří EischmannI thought it would be great to have <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/PiHole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PiHole</a>, but accessible from anywhere. And then I came across <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/AdGuard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#AdGuard</a> Home and deployed on my public server. It's open source, all the data stays on the server, it just downloads the filter updates. It has a nice dashboard and from our network it's as fast as <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Cloudflare" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Cloudflare</a> or Google <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/DNS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DNS</a>.I think I'll give it a shot. 👍
