Just opened 🐦 app for my 2 sec a day and this is the first thing I saw - #PeterObi congratulating #SaheedAderinto on winning the #DanDavid prize in #History! As some of you may have noticed here i am a big fan of Obi’s, but also of Saheed’s. I met him in the Nigerian National Archives in 2003, when he was an undergraduate student and I was doing PhD research. He is now the foremost #Nigeria historian, working, amongst other things, on human/animal relations. Congratulations Saheed! 🎉👏👏🎉😊👏🏆😊👏👏👏

@davidnjoku

Just saw this FT article, less accepting than other international accounts and also pointing out that the exceptionally low voter turn out, given all those queues all day long, needs explanation. Let's see what happens in the courts.

@davidnjoku The overall international consensus, in this piece and so many others, seems to be that voter turn out was historically low, elections fair and #Tinubu the rightful winner; the narrative being that #PeterObi did well, but always was the third party. However everyone I know, and so many people on Twitter and elsewhere, including serious analysts, do not really accept the result, saying effectively that many Obi votes were not counted. Struggling to reconcile all this
