Oh, a trial about my NIGHTMARE?
The way we assess patients for wakefulness is marred by paralysis, remember the paralytics last MUCH longer than the sedatives!!

Okay, #NurseMastodon I need some help.
I've been working as an adult #BankNurse #Vaccinator since last year as that was the easiest sector to juggle with my chronic pain and disabilities but the #SpringBoosterSeason is just about to start and there aren't enough shifts for me. So I need advice on what sectors would have the least impact on my body? I have chronic back/hip pain and still recovering from a total hysterectomy
Today is #InternationalZebraDay and the #Zebra is the mascot for #EhlersDanlosSyndrome

Some of you know my daughter is a “Zebra” and I suspect that I am too.
Well Ontario, it’s Wednesday. Today is a good day to call and email your MPPs and Premier to express your lack of support for IHFs and private healthcare.
There’s a massive platelet shortage that is affecting everyone across healthcare. I’m scheduling a donation shortly and encourage everyone to do the same, if you’re able to!

I don’t think #nurses have reached critical mass here yet, likely because a couple of us haven’t yet been attacked, publically dragged and banned from the other site (yet). It will surely inevitably happen soon.

Although most clinicians have come to perceive invasive life-sustaining treatments as overly aggressive at the end of life, some of the public and greater proportions of some socially disadvantaged groups have not. Drawing on 1,500+ hours of observation in [4 ICUs] and 69 interviews…

There is not way that a Children’s Hospital opening a 2nd ICU and calling the Red Cross to helps was “in the plans”. #OnPoli #NurseMastodon #MedMastodon
Highly recommend The Wonder on Netflix. Stellar performance by Florence Pugh - love the representation of a bold, intelligent, highly skilled nurse. We need more of this in our fictional and non-fictional stories. #MedMaston #NurseMastodon #TheWonder #Netflix #NursesInMedia
This was last evening just north of the @SaugeenAirport The sky was so majestic! I had to pull over to capture the moment. With a stressful week, I reminded myself to relax in the moment and find beauty. Good advice for all of us. #MedMastodon #NurseMastodon #Mindfulness

Today the Ontario court has ruled that Ontario’s Bill 124 that limits wage increases to education workers, teachers, nurses and other allied health, developmental service workers to 1% raise over 3 years is unconstitutional! This is a great ruling. As an ONA member I am pleased with this ruling and awaiting next steps. #OnPoli #NurseMastodon #RepealBill124
Yesterday was likely one of my most upsetting patient scenarios since I graduated over 25 years ago. I can’t share details due to privacy. However, let’s all remember to do our best each day and trust our gut plus science when doing triage. Yes Community Nurses also triage, it just looks different than ED. #triage #NurseTodon #NurseMastodon #MedMastodon #CommunityNurse
As a #nurse I’m willing to deal with almost anything to do with the human body.
As a wife, I have to get my husband to deal with anything that has mould on it or I’ll throw up.

Be kind always. It can change somebody’s life. It can change your life.

Everyday in Ontario Community Nurses; mental health, primary care, care coordinators, homecare create care plans to support our most frail and complex, at risk adults and children with very limited resources. Workload has increased. Waitlists increased. Burnout increased. #NurseMastodon #NurseTodon #OnPoli
