To that end, he made various online video ads fearing an algorithmically-generated person of colour expressing their concerns about listening to <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/Aboriginal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aboriginal</span></a> people when they say they want to be listened to.</p><p>Faced with the predictable backlash (and <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/FreePublicity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreePublicity</span></a>, who would have thought it?), his response (only slightly translated): "how could you possibly think my ads opposing listening to Indigenous people would depict an Aboriginal person? Don't you realise that I'm targeting people who *don't* want to hear from Aboriginal voices? Why would I pick a fake Aboriginal person to make a <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/fearmongering" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fearmongering</span></a> claim about people falsely claiming to be Aboriginal? And anyway, I can always tell at a glance with 100% accuracy whether someone is Aboriginal or not, can't everyone?"</p><p><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/aug/07/indigenous-voice-to-parliament-no-campaign-ai-facebook-ads" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">theguardian.com/australia-news</span><span class="invisible">/2023/aug/07/indigenous-voice-to-parliament-no-campaign-ai-facebook-ads</span></a><br><a href="https://todon.eu/tags/auspol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>auspol</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/racism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>racism</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/VoiceReferendum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VoiceReferendum</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/voice" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>voice</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/SockPuppet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SockPuppet</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a></p>
