Brad Rosenheim<p>This may be paywalled, but the Tampa Bay Times has written an editorial why they didn't plan on endorsing a presidential candidate this year. It reeks of "obeying before being asked," but there is also some good reasoning. I depend on the Times for local candidate information, and they do an excellent job of that (I don't simply go with their recommendations, but I use their information to make my decisions for races I don't know much about). They claim that their coverage of local races takes a lot of resources, and that this coverage is more important to the readers of their publication. I would agree with that. Still, one can take the same argument and look at the presidential race through a local lens - how will this race affect our communities?
