I have always liked small, compact cameras, to carry in a pocket and be able to capture that moment that catches my attention, save it, freeze it in an image, and then, as time passes, look at it again and return to that fleeting moment that passed and was saved in an image, like this photo of a small hummingbird that I took on San Cristóbal Hill, in Santiago de Chile with a SONY DSC-WX350. This small hummingbird is the southernmost in America, a species native to Chile and Argentina.

The US #army needed to end. In the 250 years of its existence, its only been the good guys for like 25 years. The rest of the time it was used for invasion and occupation for #corporate interests and gain and to slaughter #natives . 25% of the military budget is for the army and the other branches actually protect us, the army is just there as a temptation for the president to use. The #Navy and national guard are directly called for in the constitution while a standing army is strongly spoken out against by the founders.
There is no reasonable way that the US could ever be invaded from the outside by force, only through information wars and then self-implode into civil war.
We should fold the members of the army into the other branches ending our recruitment issues, replace contractors and army bases with tech, education, health and research hubs, and then sell off more of our army hardware to Europe where they CAN actually be invaded, but have been relying on us for too many decades. That 25% of the military budget could do so many things, include some reparations to the natives that army used to murder their ancestors and steal their land.

The ancient, sacred grounds of #Apache #Native territory are under threat from a looming giant — a massive copper mine that promises riches for the locals, and a pathway to the so-called green transition. But, as is often the case, it comes at a cost.

"The #SanCarlosApache tribe calls it Chi’chil Bildagoteel; English speakers call it Oak Flat. It sits on a mountainous plateau within a 17.3-kilometer oasis in the #TontoNationalForest. #RioTinto and #BHP, two of the world’s biggest mining companies, have staked their claim here through a joint venture called #ResolutionCopper. For over 10 years they’ve been lobbying governments for the right to build a colossal mine that would cover roughly 7,000 acres of surface area, and extend more than a mile into the ground.

Den Begriff der #DigitalNatives finde ich persönlich extrem schwierig.

1. #Natives wurden in der Vergangenheit bis hin zur Vernichtung ausgebeutet - daher ist die Bezeichnung für mich nicht wirklich erstrebenswert

2. Nur weil man etwas benutzt, kennt man sich nicht unbedingt damit aus ¯\(°_o)/¯

Das soll keine #Kritik an Jüngeren sein. Sie hatten Ältere, die ihnen nichts anderes beibrachten ¯\(°_o)/¯
