“Tulsi Gabbard, the US director of national intelligence, has fired the two highest-ranking officials at the National Intelligence Council (NIC) just weeks after the council released an assessment that contradicted [the 47th POTUS’s] justification for using the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members without due process. … The two were fired because of their opposition to the [POTUS], Gabbard’s office said in an email on Wednesday, without offering examples.”

"I was U.S. ambassador to Ukraine. I resigned because of Trump's foreign policy":
freep.com/story/opinion/contri
"I cannot stand by while a country is invaded, a democracy bombarded, and children killed with impunity. I believe that the only way to secure U.S. interests is to stand up for democracies and to stand against autocrats. Peace at any price is not peace at all ― it is appeasement, Appeasement leads to more war and suffering."

"John L. Young, who died March 28 at age 89 in New York City, was among the first people to see the need for an online library of official secrets, a place where the public could find out things that governments and corporations didn’t want them to know. He made real the idea – revolutionary in its time – that the internet could make more information available to more people than ever before.

John and architect Deborah Natsios, his wife, in 1996 founded Cryptome, an online library which collects and publishes data about freedom of expression, privacy, cryptography, dual-use technologies, national security, intelligence, and government secrecy. Its slogan: “The greatest threat to democracy is official secrecy which favors a few over the many.” And its invitation: “We welcome documents for publication that are prohibited by governments worldwide.”"

Tulsi Gabbard dismissed the top two officials at the National Intelligence Council after they released an assessment that challenged President Trump’s justification for using the Alien Enemies Act. The report reportedly undermined the administration’s claim that deporting alleged Venezuelan gang members without due process was a national security necessity.

Trump is wrong about almost everything, @claynobles.bsky.social, but he is right about Syria. Syria's new ruler Ahmed al-Sharaa led the movement that pushed Assad out of power. Assad killed and tortured countless people. Ahmed al-Sharaa had a troubled past but by all accounts (except for genocidal Israel) there are good reasons to trust him to lead Syria to a peaceful and constructive future. Britain removed sanctions from Syria even before Trump did. #politics #NationalSecurity

"A number of Republican lawmakers are souring on Pres.
