And most people around me in <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/academia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>academia</span></a> use either MacOS (a Unix) or <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/Ubuntu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ubuntu</span></a> or <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/ArchLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ArchLinux</span></a>. The only systems running MSWindows are microscopes, there must be tremendous vendor lock-in and inertia; but even that is being upended by the <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/micromanager" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>micromanager</span></a> open source microscopy software <a href="https://micro-manager.org" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">micro-manager.org</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> .</p>
