Maurice Ravel (March 7, 1875-December 28, 1937) was a pianist, conductor and composer known for both his work in impressionistic music and for his slow, deliberate composition history, which left him with a smaller body of work compared to his contemporaries. Similar to Stravinsky, in the late 1910s and early 1920s Ravel become familiar with and enamored by ragtime & Jazz music. he would even go on to evangelize about Jazz in the press and to anyone who would listen
