I'm intrigued to know this.
Does people lurking here actually use Linux itself on their phones, or simply Android as usual?

#android#linux#poll

Do you think of trust as something that is absolute? Do you either completely trust someone or completely distrust someone with no range of values in between?

Or do you think of trust as something that varies from low to high with values anywhere in between? Do you have some friends/family you trust more than others. with a very few at the highest level? Does your trust vary based on the situation?

Boosts appreciated, Thank You!

Netiquette Mastodon ?

🇬🇧 Two persons whom you don't know are having a public conversation on Mastodon. You have an interesting or amusing and positive comment to make, do you do it? Choices are (1) Yes as they are discussing publicly, (2) No, it's impolite.

Please boost and comment, this poll is public!

#MastodonPoll: which of these moral maxims do you prefer? (Note that these are largely paraphrases; please don't nitpick if I got the wording wrong)
(and yes, many of these may sound similar to one another, but the point is to consider their distinctions)
1. "Don't do anything to anyone that you wouldn't want them to do to you" (Negative Golden Rule)
2. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Golden Rule)
3. "Do unto others as you would have everyone do to everyone else" (Categorical Imperative)
4. "Don't ask anyone to do something for you that you wouldn't do yourself" (idk what this one's called... let's just call it "Leadership" for now)
5. "Do unto others as you think they would want you to do unto them" (Considerateness)
6. "Only intervene with other's behavior when they're harming others, not when they're harming themselves" (Harm Principle)
7. "Act in a way that does the most good for the largest number of people" (Utilitarianism)
8. "Be excellent to one another, and party on, dudes!" (Bill and Ted)

Re-holding my #MastodonPoll from the other day with some updated wording and choices for responses:
After considering all practicalities involved, which of the following proposals for the size of the U.S. House of Representatives would you prefer?
#ExpandTheHouse

#MastodonPoll: You are given the power to prevent one of the following assassinations or groups of assassinations. Which do you choose to save?
(Choosing one of the grouped options means saving all members listed in that group)

Looks like John Berman is casting to be CNN's version of Steve Kornacki (MSNBC) but whether his suit and wit can overcome the charm of Kornacki's khakis and subtlelty remains to be seen.

Anyway, who would you rather watch at the "big board" and why?

How much trouble could company B be in if you were duly convicted of a crime following the accidental sharing, as a result of the sharing?

Companies A and B have routine joint video calls as vendors to a common customer. You switch employment from A to B but continue making presentations, only now for B.

Which of the following is worse for you to accidentally share in one of those joint video calls?

I like to test a hunch about Rust programmers and the OS/platform they *use* for programming (*not* what they target).

Boosts appreciated because my network here has virtually no Rust programmers. And remember the adage: if you vote, you boost. 😀

PS: If you program on Windows but in WSL, choose "Rust, Linux". If multiple options apply, choose the most frequent.

If AI didn't learn from people who are unaware of AI benefitting from them (eg AI won't learn from artists' work online, and instead it will only learn off of submissions knowingly and willingly given to it to learn from), would you be more ok with it?
