Mastodon advice/help please.

I would like to follow an account on BlueSky.

I seem to see some BlueSky posts here, so it seems it should be possible... but I don't see the particular accounts posts and don't seem to be able to find their account on Mastodon search.

Do they need to do something for Mastodon to see their account?... or?

Thanks, in advance.

Can anyone tell me why all whom I follow on

thecanadian.social

don't show up in my 'following' lists?

Yet if I go to their page it says

I follow them, or 'you follow each other'

??

*My friend on mastodon.social is having the same problem.

Help!

My instance: ohai.social

I see a post that "crossposts/embeds/boosts" another post

ohai.social/@SesameSquirrel@ma

If I click on the embed, it loads on the OP's instance

E.g. mastodon.social/@MatthewTitus8

I can't star/reply etc to OP

How do I get to see the OP via *my* instance so that I can interact with it? (I tried URL hacking mastodon.social to ohai.social but that didn't work, "not found" error)

ohai.socialohai.social

Is there a quick way to see all of my posts with a certain hashtag?

I want to see all the food posts I've made but don't want to include it as a featured hashtag on my profile.

Sure i could just change the featured hashtag and then back but is there a simpler way... i like actually feel stupid rn 😅

I'm on mobile rn so yeh it's gonna be different. But yeah idky this hasn't crossed my mind before.

#MastodonHelp:

Is there a keyboard shortcut in the web-interface for "mark all notifications as read?"

The keyboard-shortcuts listed when typing «?» seem spotty at best—j/k doesn't seem to do anything (which in turn doesn't give post-focus for fav/boost/mention/etc functions; alt+x shows the content-warning box; but doesn't un-show it, etc. Some of the work better in the Advanced view rather than the more simple timeline view, but still spotty.

So, whether the software is named for the band or for the critter, it's likely one of ours was the vector.

I mention it because one of our local mastodons, Sugar, needs restoration, and I think Mastodon-the-federated-platform would be an ideal place to find generous contributors to the effort:

sunyorangefoundation.betterwor

This first-step fundraiser is for seed money to scope everything and design the restoration and move. Help Sugar!

I would like to see more from certain people I follow but who aren't on my home server.
'Home' gives too much noise
'Live feeds' only gives stuff from my instance.
'Lists' looks like it could work but I can't seem to add people to a list, it just sits there with them greyed out.
Ideas please?

Has anyone written any (command-line) mastodon scripts for doing something like skeeter-deleter (github.com/Gorcenski/skeeter-d) for mastodon? Basically I don't want the automatic deletion because I want to control what stays and goes and also want to archive as I go. DuckDuckGo and other searches are predictably not great since the most common results are about migration or using the automatic delete functionality. #mastodonhelp

I've moved through four different instances, and currently use one Main and one Alt

Using a web browser, at:

Profile: Preferences: Import and Export

You can reach:

Follows
Lists
Followers
You mute
You block
and
Domain blocks

Export as *.CSV, save locally somewhere

(You *cannot* use a phone)

Import as *.CSV at the new instance

It's not perfect, but it's what we have to work with

*After other instances have defederated things might be a lot more sketchy, so I'd save all my CSVs from where you are --> right now <--
