It’s been a good ride, #UltramarineLinux, but #Fedora has dropped support for the old broadcom-wl driver that Hardcase needs, so now I get “tainted kernel” errors.
I’ll be moving Hardcase all the way back to one of the very first distros that I used in the beginning of my Linux journey: Linux Mint. @linuxmint
I recently installed #LinuxMint on an old MacBook for a friend and was pleasantly reminded of just how easy and friendly and COMPATIBLE it is. 
This is awful. I'm backing up my research data from EndNote + Atlas.ti because I can't use them on Linux. I tried switching to Zotero and Taguette, but the data migration process is problematic: I lost groups with Zotero and Taguette doesn't support QDPX file import. 
Does anyone know of a QDA tool for Linux that supports QDPX file import (Project Exchange Format for Qualitative Data)?

After the installation the ethernet interface understands that there is a cable attached.
Downloading updates right now with amazing 1.500 kB/s.
Used the installed wifi card in that system to get a working internet connection.
Maybe a kernel update will fix this situation. Lets see.
The graphical user interface is up. It does detect my ethernet card but thinks the cable is unplugged.
I just downloaded the iso with that connection.
(Another machine like this is still running OpenBSD and quietly chugging along.)
What is this nonsense now?
First try already failed when following Linux Mints installation guide.
This is a ThinkCentre m75q Gen5 - when OpenBSD is able to boot from this straight with dd-ing an img file, how can a widely used Linux distribution not get its act together and put the right file into the EFI folder?
Before you ask, secure boot and all of this shenanigans are disabled.

Vorhin habe ich mein #linuxmint Cinnamon von 21.3 auf 22 aufgerüstet.
Das Tool #mintupgrade funktionierte anders, als ich erwartet hatte. Nachdem einige neuen Module heruntergeladen worden waren, brach das Tool plötzlich den Prozess mit einer Fehlermeldung ab.
Stattdessen meldete sich die #Aktualisierungsverwaltung mit dem Hinweis, dass mintupgrade aktualisiert werden muss.

Super excited to be diving into Linux Mint (Cinnamon desktop environment) and testing out the LibreOffice apps! Honestly, it’s been surprisingly accessible so far, and I’m loving how smoothly everything is running.

As much as I love #LinuxMint I miss #KDE so much more. I wish there was an easy way to switch my #Desktop Environment from #Cinnamon to KDE.

@pensadorlouco A minha experiência pessoal com o Wayland usando o Linux Mint com uma placa gráfica da Nvidia tem sido para já um pouco desapontante. Até adicionei um repo com drivers gráficas mais atualizadas, mas ainda assim a estabilidade falha um pouco, e o polimento também. Tenho crashes ocasionais, e algumas aplicações não suportam o theme escuro.
O suporte Wayland no Linux Mint é ainda experimental, por isso espero que no futuro melhore. Até lá uso X11.
And just like that, #LinuxMint is up to date, all my apps are up to date and the whole process was even less effort than #MacOS.
(I'm not even gonna touch the nagging horror of some other OSes and their breakgrades.)
