Finished alternating listening to two great audiobooks, Playground via Libby, and How Yiddish Changed America and How America Changed Yiddish via Hoopla!
Surely you've already signed up for a library card at your local library, but for the few of you putting this off, here's a reminder that September is a #LibraryCardSignUpMonth!
Happy Library Card Sign-Up Month to all who celebrate!
Last night, I was delighted to receive this image from the amazing Ryan Estrada who did a little sketch of #gambit throwing my library’s #librarycard for my #birthday
3/29/24 — Open 6-9p Mask recommended. No open drinks, please.
Two pictures today. 1st is a Children's Dept. library card of the Dayton Public Library from 1945/'46. 2nd is an older picture of the Dayton Library that issued the card. I found the card tipped in a children's book with a page of long division homework.
If you live in North America and have a library card, you might have access to read my book for free on #hoopla!
@corsent My older daughter worked hard to spell her entire name just for the purpose of getting her very own #librarycard. We went there constantly, with her sister in the stroller. This was pre-internet and we had no TV, so books (printed and audio) were her avenue of escape. She’s 37 now, she was 4-4.5-ish at the time.
How to get the most out of your #library
Baking pans, legal help, language classes and more — #libraries can provide so much more than #books. We'll talk about how to get a #librarycard, navigate the online hold system and discover all the cool things your library has to offer.
Libby is making it easier to access magazines for free with a supported library card
The app lets you read 'The New Yorker,' 'Wired' and much more for absolutely zilch.

I miss having a Brooklyn Public #Library (out of state) card! They had such a good #ebook collection. If anyone know of any similar services, pls let me know! (Yes, I’ll definitely pay for it) #LibraryCard
I feel like I've posted this before but it's worth repeating:
If you live in Massachusetts, you can sign up for a free e-library card from the Boston Public Library. You don't even have to live in Boston!
With an e-card from BPL, you can access literally thousands of books and other digital goodies for free through their app or your preferred e-library app! (Hoopla is my personal favorite.)
@sharonecathcart YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A CALIFORNIA RESIDENT TO GET A RIVERSIDE COUNTY LIBRARY CARD - Check this link: https://www.rivlib.net/services/get-library-card#:~:text=Out%20of%20State%20Residents%3A%20Residents,must%20be%20renewed%20every%20year. Is your research blocked? Is your investigation of the world limited to dumb people? Are fools trying to limit your freedom, like fools? #fools #librarycard #freedom #rightToRead

Do you have a library card recommendation for ones you can get where you don't have to be a resident of the state? I have a local one but would love to have more selection to choose from.
