UPDATE: I have been given the answer. I do not like it.

Hello, can someone math-abled please explain to me why I want:
if Input.is_key_pressed(KEY_UP)
velocity.y -= speed
to move the character up the y axis and not
velocity.y += speed
?
I thought positive numbers go up the y axis? I don't understand.

The way we build software is changing fast thanks to AI agents.

Cut through the "vibe coding" buzz – I explain what's happening, review tools like Copilot, Cursor, and Continue (plus local with Ollama!), and discuss how engineers can adapt. Importantly, I cover how this is reshaping the junior developer journey!

Hi everyone! How's your evening going? I've had a challenging day and night with a lot of pain and fatigue. After resting all day, I'm feeling better and ready to dive back into my studies. I'm currently working on the Front-End Development Libraries certification on freeCodeCamp and tackling lesson 14 of my Braille proofreading course. Before I get started, I should probably tuck my dog Squeaker into his kennel for the night—he's been napping under my desk in his daytime bed. 😊

Hey fellow devs and learners! 👋 I'm looking for some extra practice with JavaScript and jQuery. Does anyone know of any free or low-cost text-based tutorials, courses, or interactive games that could help?

I've been working through freeCodeCamp, but I feel like I need more hands-on practice to really grasp JavaScript. Bonus points for accessibility-friendly resources!

Some things I'm interested in:
• Interactive coding challenges
• Text-based tutorials (great for screen readers!)
• Gamified learning experiences
• Practical projects to build

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Let's share resources and help each other learn. #CodeNewbie #JavaScript #jQuery #WebDev #a11y #programming #learningToProgram #learningToCode #accessibility

As a blind, autistic, chronically ill person learning to program, Perplexity has been an absolute game-changer for me! 🙌

Its AI-powered search provides clear, concise answers that are easy for me to process. The accessibility-friendly format works great with my screen reader. And being able to ask follow-up questions helps me dive deeper into coding concepts at my own pace.

But it's not just for coding! Perplexity is also helping me write clearer posts and emails. It ensures my thoughts are organized and expressed effectively, which is a huge help with my communication challenges.

Perplexity adapts to my unique needs, making learning and communicating so much more accessible and enjoyable. It's become an invaluable tool in my daily life and programming journey.

🎉 **Finally finished my #freeCodeCamp cash register project!** 🎉

This one was a real challenge, but with the support of several amazing people, persistence, and some thorough Web searches, I got it done! This has been the hardest project yet, but now I’m 4/5 of the way through the #JavaScript certification! 🙌

Next up is a project that will dive into #asynchronous programming. Here’s what I’ll be tackling:

**Project: Learn Asynchronous Programming by Building an fCC Forum Leaderboard**
*Status: Not started*

JavaScript is an asynchronous programming language, and this project will help me gain proficiency in asynchronous concepts. I’ll be coding my own freeCodeCamp forum leaderboard. 🚀

This project will cover:
- The Fetch API
- Promises
- Async/Await
- The try..catch statement

I’m making so much progress and learning a lot! Sometimes it feels frustrating when things take longer to understand, but I know that every step is part of the journey. 💪✨

Still stuck on this #freeCodeCamp #JavaScript project. I've used console.log statements to look at what different functions are returning, but I don't understand why they're returning what they are for test 18 and 19. Can someone please help? I just posted my code on the freeCodeCamp forum, and you can find it at: forum.freecodecamp.org/t/build
#JS #programming #coding #learningToCode #learningToProgram #beginnerProgrammer #beginnerCoder #JavaScriptIsHard Good evening all. Just woke up and had something to eat, leftover pizza from yesterday. Going to get dressed and then try to tackle this #freeCodeCamp #JavaScript project again. Still feeling a little overwhelmed and unsure how to fix things, but hopefully it will go better now that I've slept some.

The freeCodeCamp Forum · Build a Cash Register Project - Build a Cash RegisterTell us what’s happening: My code is failing tests 18 and 19. I used console.log statements to figure out why, and it’s returning INSUFFICIENT-FUNDS for test 18. I’ve gone over my code but have no idea why. Can someone help me figure this out? Okay, going to go get a shower and hope it doesn't make me so tired I can't stay awake, which happens frequently no matter how much I've slept. And then I'm going to come back to my computer and get started on this #freeCodeCamp project: freecodecamp.org/learn/javascr
I'm almost done with the #JavaScript course. Lol #JS is still hard though.

#blind #programmers and those learning to #program like me: Do you think it would be useful to have a group here on #Mastodon for blind #devs? I've been getting questions from other blind people about the tools I use and #coding with a #screenReader, so I was thinking it might be neat to have a place where we can all talk and exchange tips.

Wow, I've done a lot while I've been awake. Finished a #JavaScript project on #freeCodeCamp, did the drills for lesson 11 of my #Braille #proofreading course, finished and submitted the lesson 11 exercises, talked to quite a few people on here and created a group for #Christians, checked #email, played a little of each of the #incrementalGames I have going right now, and completed another short #JS project on freeCodeCamp. I'm wiped out and think I'm going to get ready to go to bed. It's after 1:00 PM here but I have no #sleep schedule because of multiple #sleepDisorders, so going to bed in the middle of the day isn't unusual for me.
