Christian Boulanger<p>There is a need of bringing <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/bibliometrics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bibliometrics</span></a> and <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/digitalhumanities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>digitalhumanities</span></a> together, for two reasons: 1) <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/DH" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DH</span></a> is so far missing out on the large body of data on <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/KnowledgeProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KnowledgeProduction</span></a> that exists in bibliometric databases 2) Bibliometrics needs more critical reflection on its data sources. There is a tendency to draw overly broad conclusions on the basis of severely deficient and incomplete data in the commercial databases.</p>
