It's medical and very important.
I can't eat gluten, i get really sick when I do. Not a craze or hype just health in the hospital kind of way. Therefore I eat only warm, self prepared meals.

I got used to cooking once a week, large meals, freezing that in small portions, defrosting them in the fridge and microwave small portions to eat. Might seem cumbersome but I like it.
This is not how most people do.

Now about those changes.
I had a gas stove, an old fridge and a not so old freezer.
I had a limited amount of money.
And I wanted to use #InductionCooking. (Health, Energy prices and Emissions)
My reasoning was that going electric in general causes less emission then burning dinosaurs privately.

I was a bit apprehensive about the costs, would I need a bigger power extension etc.?
I had someone calculate a bit and it turned out to be lucrative not both ways but four.
It turned out that,
if I got rid of the guzzling 🥵 old fridge and the freezer, I could easily allow for a two phase (220V), two pit induction stove.
So I bought a state of the art fridge-freeze combination (650 ϵ)
and a two pit 220v induction plate (140 ϵ ).
I also had to buy new pots and pans (135 ϵ)
Then I made the furniture myself out of second hand wood.

I decided I had some money to spare so I also
bought 2 Infra Red Panels to support my gas powered central heating.
(150 W at 90,00 ϵ and 600 W at 210,00 ϵ )

After 1 year it's time for a review:
I'M VERY HAPPY, A LOT EASIER, CHEAPER AND A LOT CLEANER
(Side effect: the air in the house is a lot cleaner with induction cooking)
Cooking is far easier (and safer) once you get used to it and I got a lot more room in my fridge/freezer than I was used to.

OK my electricity bill has gone up by 15% but my gas bill has gone down by 25%. Since in my area gas is about twice as expensive as electricity, in the end it's a lot cheaper.
I'm still dependent on natural gas for my hot water and central heating. But I started to use the electric kettle more so it's mainly my shower heating.
