Hey #yeg or #Mac-knowledgeable folks:
I have a lovely little #iPodTouch (6th gen) that I *thought* had a twisted case from sleeping on it a few times.
However it is now clear the battery is expanding. (Hasn't held a charge in years so I just kept it plugged in).
I'd love to still use it--good size/weight. Is still operational but apparently dangerous now?
Any ideas re how to fix or if it must be disposed of (and if so, where/how)?
ETA: Tracked down help, see next for brief info! 1/2

Seriously, #Apple's #iCloudLock is a shitty #Malware if not #Govware since it can be #weaponized to remotely #brick #iPhone|s, #iPad|s and #iPodTouch devices.
I wonder how soon pure Linux on mobile will become normalized to the point where we can flash old iOS devices with decent hardware performance with Linux and make them usable again with up-to-date security fixes. That would be cool so that we can salvage old iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads that can't run the latest versions of Apple's OSes for those devices. Bonus points if we can flash old iPods to run Linux, too.
Qu'elle bummer, as they say in France.
