there's a lot out there on how to find the "right" #generalcounsel role and the thing I see repeated over and over and over is how it's vital that you report to the CEO.

i mean, duh, tell me something any living breathing adult doesn't know. you mean reporting to the CFO will put your priorities below Finance's? shocked, i tell you.

what doesn't get said that leveling is just as important.

what do I mean by that? a general counsel should be at least an SVP.
