Speaking of Young Eagles. Here is me as pilot (middle) and my supporting ground crew for the rally. Picture contains eye contact.
I am exhausted.
Yesterday I flew with my Mother to Iron Mountain (KIMT) and we got dinner at Famers Restaurant near Pine Mountain. They really recommend the fish fry but I've never been one for fried fish so I got some onion rings and chicken strips (delicious). The flight up was a bit challenging from turbulence and just having to fight with the plane the whole time to stay at one altitude. The flight back was calmer and I barely had to adjust anything. Landed right near sunset.
Today i got up at 4:30am to get ready and fly to Clintonville (KCLI) for their new EAA Chapter's first Young Eagles Rally! Chapter 1710 did a fantastic job and 55 kids got a taste of flight (13 in my plane over 5 flights). The winds made this quite bumpy too so I got beaten up again.
After getting treated to pizza, I flew to Waupaca (KPCZ) where there was some kind of car show going on. I don't really care about cars but I wandered around and got some food and relaxed enjoying the nice weather.
Once I got bored of that I hopped in my plane and flew to Brennand (79C) to help some chapter members of mine with a few things at the hangar for a while.
Finally I made the long trip back (7nm) to KATW and I was exhausted. Turns out I did 9 separate flights today and i feel it. Great time, great experiences, so sleepy. Constant turbulence is tiring.
I had that WANT to fly and I used my callsign for the first time, which was fun. ADS-B exchange registered it correctly so I assume I entered it into my transponder correctly. It was pretty gusty on the ground but otherwise the flying was pretty smooth! I tried out a GPS approach to get familiar with the instrumentation in this aircraft and everything works as expected which is always a good thing.
I've been making a list of pretty much every flying event within 150nm of my location and this is going to be a summer of a lot of flying to those events. This weekend I'll be flying Young Eagles and then over to Waupaca (KPCZ) for their fly-in and car show in the afternoon!
AVWeb posted a really good video to show all the new features of Safe Return on the SR-22 https://youtu.be/TrxhCK8rSl0?si=lv-UGm5Kl6mmteFD
WOW! Ok I am blown away but Cirrus now. In the new SR-22 they just added Emergency Auto Land to the G7+. So not only does it have a parachute it has Auto Land. That is game changing for safety. #CFILife #FlightInstructor

So since some have asked. Here is what I have been working on for a Comprehensive Flight Review. The target for this is club/lower yearly time GA pilots.
The idea would be to talk to the pilot ahead of time and fine tune but this gives them a starting point on what we would cover. (link to PDF)
Thoughts?

The night flight was a success. Winds were unusual (spring weather) and it was very dark out with nearly no moon. Always so pretty to fly at night, landing over pitch black fields is always a weird feeling though.
Sadly not shocked by this but having a PE firm own the app that I use every flight is a bit worrisome.

After the Young Eagles rally I had some time and decided to fly around a little. I got a ram mount for my yoke and wanted to test it a bit (I like it a lot more than having the ipad on my thigh). I also "suffered" a little spontaneous disassembly of my air vent and had to wait until I was back on the ground to mess with it.
Overall, a nice flight seeing things starting to turn green.
A successful Young Eagles rally at 79C this morning! The clouds lifted and we had four aircraft going. I flew 8 total and all 8 had never been on a small plane before. It was a challenging crosswind at Brennand since the runway isn't very wide, but I had some great landings.
I completed another page of my paper log book from September of last year through early April. I love to celebrate completing a page as it feels like progress (and the pages keep stacking up).
I did 12 flights over this time with 22.2 hours and 33 landings. I now have 338.3 total hours and 601 landings!
I am ready to start participating in some Young Eagles flights and share the adventure with others.
My proposal to the board to do four Fly Outs this year, with me as the flight leader, has been approved! EAA 41 is officially doing Fly Outs again! First up is May 25th, heading to Portage, WI (C47) to support EAA 371 chapter 's pancake breakfast and car show. They've recently had to fight to keep their airport open and that's a cause I can get behind. If you're in the area, come say hello (and show your support)!

Does anyone know of a pilot looking for a partner in a high performance #airplane or twin such a Bonanza, Barron, Seneca, DA-42, Malibu in the #KMSN area?

Complete Walkaround did their yearly breakdown of top selling aircraft. Not really any surprises here other than one that did not make the list. Only 2 Beechcraft Barrons were made last year... 2. WOW.
Well looks like the #FAA is planning on killing off Flight Service Stations (FSS) and their associated Remote Communication Outlets (RCO).
Truthfully I am not shocked. I have not used FSS as a private #pilot for… a long time.
