I've always wondered if Dan O'Bannon was a fan of the <a href="https://mas.to/tags/FrankHerbert" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FrankHerbert</a> novel Destination: Void as both Dark Star and <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Alien" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Alien</a>, both of which he wrote, seem to borrow and build upon ideas from this underrated book.
