#FollowTheMoney 🧵 58/n

I think so much about middle class-ness at the moment. More research in news this week how it’s the top 10%, those with incomes over £36,000, who are largely responsible for CO2 emissions; but it’s even more than that; middle-class aspirations shape everything. So conscious of this now as I am so driven in finding work so as not to have to sell our (nice, middle class, highly mortgaged house). Then a friend just sent me this - must read. #ClimateDiary

This LinkedIn post resonates … wanted to share here just in case there are others who are in this situation too.

Also one reason I hardly ever add to this 🧵any more is that, of course, I am literally trying to #FollowTheMoney, or rather, divert some from somewhere to my bank account😄 #JobSearch #FediHire

Our latest piece dives into the millions poured in by fossil fuel backers, aviation tycoons, and climate denial networks.

It’s time to ask: whose interests are they really defending?

FTA: "The only way to combat her anti-trans rhetoric is to let these fictional worlds move into obscurity, rather than boosting them up for another generation to embrace and telling Rowling we want to keep hearing her hate."

> America underestimates the difficulty of bringing manufacturing back freethink.com/opinion/us-tarif

This is written from a factory worker and trader POV, so there may be a point or two of contention but also makes good points. A lot of it is it was relatively easy for US to outsource. Given things now, it is near impossible to bring the outsource jobs back.

FreethinkAmerica underestimates the difficulty of bringing manufacturing backTariffs won't bring manufacturing back to the US, but there are ways to make it happen — if America is serious about doing so.

@ChrisMayLA6

The move away from remote and hybrid working is also driven by commercial building owners wanting the income from office based workers.

There’s a similar monetary drive for transport and service companies, e.g. cafés, meeting the needs of office based workers.

Okay. I think I get it. It is market manipulation. His inner circle take market positions to take advantage of the massive drop and when he reverses his decision the market jumps. It probably is that simple. #FollowTheMoney

#followthemoney
