Chójźina
Let#s try and simplify it:

1) Late-stage #capitalism

It is fucked, you guys! It is fucked and fucked up. IT ALWAYS WAS. Capitalism NEVER worked for all of society because it can't. Capitalism has EXPLOITATION at its core, and I think we can logically surmise that at the VERY LEAST capitalism does not work for the exploited and therefore is not a just and fair way of living.

There was about a 20 year period it SEEMED to work in the 'imperial core' (aka Western society) but maybe ask around so-called 'undeveloped countries' or 'the third world' countries. After you did your research, consider calling them the exploited countries. (oh, and maybe note the skin colour of its inhabitants....it's kinda eye-opening)
By the way, the ONLY reason most white folk in the imperial core thought the whole charade was working? Social fucking welfare. Which was fought for and obtained because 'the left' clawed it out of greedy capitalists hands for you!

Enter Thatcher and Reagan, and POOF....
Ever since those two that security is practically gone.
Which leads to the weird state of things that conservatives dream of the 50s to 70s while they worship the two idiots that basically took it from them.

The effects of neoliberalism were slowed for a decade because the Wall came down and the whole theatre had 'new markets' to conquer. The whole system fell over East Europe like locusts hollowing out every societal fabric that existed. The fattest winners of that period we now call 'oligarchs', and the king of the oligarchs now rules Russia.
Some people STILL conjure up pictures of Soviets when they speak about #Putin but the truth is, you are fighting - as is custom - a villain you have created yourself.

Which brings us here....where it is ABSOLUTELY fucking clear that capitalism is #feudalism with a few extra steps. There is the 1% who are RICHER than God and who are constantly shoved into your face as the alleged result of 'hard work', and there is us....the peasants that break our backs and ultimately fight the wars.

We have loads of names for the shitty things (e.g. enshittification) but ultimately what we mean is exploitation. We talk around like this is a new thing but what we actually mean is that we cannot reconcile that it is happening here in the middle of the Empire TO US when we thought we had outsourced the suffering to brown people, huh?

2) Capitalism works on the idea of INFINITE growth while we all know that we have FINITE resources. Any fucking scientist will tell you that this is IMPOSSIBLE. In fact, you don't need a doctorate to recognize the hitch.

In order to obscure this problem, we drill deeper and greedily extract every morsel we can take from Mother.

In short: this is literally what is causing climate change and its devastating effects. Scientists can give you the details but this is the most simplified version of what is happening.

Short summary: On a macro-level these two problems are the two greatest dangers to humankind. The exploitation of the masses for the benefit of the few while we fuck up our planet, our fucking home. This is caused by capitalism and it CANNOT be solved by capitalism because the two CORE problems are BAKED INTO it. If you COULD take these problems out of capitalism it would cease to BE capitalism.

It has to go. You HAVE TO let go of it.

3) The rest, by the way, plays out the same fucking way in EVERY Western country right now.

- the mega-rich recognize that they cannot hide the scam from the peasants anymore
- they buy up anything that forms opinions (aka 'the media')
- suddenly the media does not report on them anymore other than their lavish parties (MET gala, anyone?)
- suddenly the media seems to be full of fear and hatred for 'the others'
- the others seem to ALWAYS be - in no order - LGTBQ+ folk (currently: the Trans community), woman (always attacked as 'feminism' whenever a woman still has choices over herself), disabled people or the classic: race ...only then come heterosexual white people usually in the form of attacking 'welfare kings & queens'
- these others are constantly depicted as 'everything that's wrong these days' ....et voila....Culture Wars

What follows is the grifters and charlatans that want to steer the anger for their benefit because they want to be part of the elite. Suddenly, there rises a movement that is primarily lead by old, white, heterosexual men and exhibits ALL hallmarks of Umberto Ecco's most important piece of writing. The essay is called 'Ur-Fascism' and that should tell you EVERYTHING.

The ultra-wealthy than feed this movement because it is the perfect distraction. They fund the bullshit. The media constantly shows you the bullshit. And they laugh and laugh and laugh that you still worship Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. Oh how they laugh about you when you buy old Swift songs again under the guise of "Taylor's version".

And then the rich fumble the leash they have their attack dogs on, and all that hatred stirred up turns into blood. But somehow it does not feed on the 1%. There is juicier prey.....us.

So where does that leave us, huh? Easy.

- get a library card or listen to the people who for decades have used theirs and have already read 200 years worth of literature about the topic
- use culture war bullshit to recognize who the people are that you ally with
- yes, that's right....you do not argue that minorities have to be left by the wayside for your normalcy; you fucking ally with them
- yes, that means learning things about yourself that are uncomfortable and it ain't easy
- you fight with them, you fight for them because Niemöller was a piece of shit but THIS is the lesson you can take from his shitty poem you constantly quote
- you fight fascism in whatever form you can do but you do not shut up about it
- you drop the notion that somehow this will be done without violence or within the constraints of the law or courts
- you accept that fascism and bigotry will never go away but we can drive it back into hiding

Once we put the fascists back into their place, we finally turn and deal with the uber-rich and think about how we want to rebuild society.

And hear me out, once we are THERE we can have in-depth discussions about how that's supposed to look like. And wow, some of these ideas will sound far-fetched and utopian. And you will think that only mad people would think this will work.

See, on that topic I'd like to paraphrase a dude the ultra-wealthy annoyed us with during the lockdowns:

You may think we are dreamers, but we are not the only ones.
