#Trump expressed his disdain for #WindPower during a meeting with his Cabinet recently, calling it an expensive form of #energy that “smart” countries
don’t use.

His comments contained false & misleading information about the use of wind power in the #UnitedStates & around the world, & came on the heels of an #ExecutiveOrder he signed Monday that would end subsidies around “#green” energy.

The plaintiffs in the NH #BirthrightCitizenship case are looking to seize upon one of the major exceptions to #SCOTUS’ ruling. They argue it allows #judges to continue to block #Trump policies on a nationwide basis in #ClassAction lawsuits.

The lawsuit, which was filed by the #ACLU & others hours after the Supreme Court ruled, seeks class action status on behalf of babies who would be subject to Trump's #ExecutiveOrder & their parents.

One of the biggest tests of the impact of #SCOTUS’ ruling in #Trump v. CASA will come on Thurs, when a federal judge in NH will
consider whether to prevent Trump's #ExecutiveOrder curtailing #BirthrightCitizenship from taking effect nationally on July 27.

That EO was at the heart of SCOTUS’ ruling, which did not address the legality of the policy, but held that #judges likely lack #authority to issue #NationwideInjunctions & ordered 3 judges to reconsider rulings…

“In a separate dissenting opinion, [Justice] Jackson wrote that the court’s decision poses ‘an existential threat to the rule of law’ by allowing the exec branch to ‘violate the Constitution w respect to anyone who has not yet sued.’”

“‘…the Executive’s bid to vanquish so-called ‘universal injunctions’ is…a request for this Court’s permission to engage in unlawful behavior….”

“In a sweeping ruling, the Supreme Court limited the ability of federal judges to block executive actions throughout the country through nationwide injunctions, greatly affecting how parties seek judicial relief going forward.

“The court’s 6-3 ruling Friday, with all 6 GOP-appointed justices in the majority, deals a significant blow to legal challenges against …Trump’s extreme executive orders….”

Some of the policies that the #Trump administration has tried to bring into effect, only to be blocked by #NationwideInjunctions that remain in force, for now:

— A (redundant) #voter ID #ExecutiveOrder that requires proof of #citizenship

— Federal Funding Freeze that froze trillions of dollars of federal #grants & #loans

— an order by the #Education Dept that demanded that #PublicSchools either eliminate programs promoting #diversity & #equity, or lose their federal #funding.

Kevin Breuninger reveals a significant Supreme Court ruling that limits federal judges' ability to issue universal injunctions, potentially impacting President Trump’s efforts to end birthright citizenship. While the 6-3 decision didn’t tackle the executive order's constitutionality, it underscores the boundaries of judicial authority. Justice Barrett stressed courts shouldn't overstep, while Justice Sotomayor cautioned against undermining established rights.
