Traditional meadow orchards are a good practice example for integrated #biodiversity #conservation in orchards.

What an intensive week of #alpine #SoilBiodiversity sampling. Despite being holidays in , we climbed up #mountains in in the #NationalParkHoheTauern for our #SnowBeds project (w/ @uniinnsbruck & @unibern).

We as #AlpSoil_Lab from #EuracResearch set up our highest pitfall traps yet at high #alpine sites at 3300m and 3100m.
These #GLORIA sites are quite steep and challenging to reach, but I can't wait to see the #soilfauna living up there

On our way as #EuracResearch Institute for #Alpine Environment over snowcapped mountain passes to #Davos in #Switzerland for the @worldbioforum 2024 (#WBF2024) .

Despite a rainy start, the weather was quite friendly up at 2500m at #EuracResearch's #LTSER site Matsch/Mazia in #Vinschgau, #SouthTyrol, #Italy

Checked some #SoilTemp loggers for fresh #alpine soil temperature data from our (dry) grassland spots.

Today Nadine Praeg rocked the floor at the #IUSS2024 #SoilScience #Conference speaking about the #microbiome in #soils and different organisms interacting with soil such as #SoilFauna and mammals.

We checked the #alpine meteo station at 2400m in the #LTSERMatsch site, #Vinschgau (#SouthTyrol).

As you see: it was quite wintery up there, with snow and wind, and a little bit of sun
