Now on 5 follow-up calls.

4th to cancel order for TV service as Eir failed to deliver equipment

5th to enquire how I may return said non-received equipment to avoid a 100€ fee as per letter reveived today.

I’m seeing the funny side as this is exactly how I expected the cancellation process to play out.

Looking forward to my 6th follow-up call when I receive my bill in the New Year

Lies, damned lies and statistics

Four weeks ago I upgraded my Eir package. As it was a sales call the customer service person was very helpful. In closing the call, they requested that I fill in a short survey to review the interaction. I usually ignore these surveys but against my better judgement I gave them a glowing five star review.

Four weeks and three follow-up calls later for non-delivery of new equipment, surprise surprise no one is asking me to fill out a survey!

Just got a call from #eir asking if we’d like to upgrade to fibre to the home installation offer. An engineer comes out. Sounds like a bit of work. Went through the options and agreed to try it. Asked what if we decided not to, could we get a better deal on our current bundle which is more pricey than the offer. Oh no. So we’re kind of forced into an upgrade economically! #obsolescence #capitalism

So #EIR can’t fix our broadband until next week. Sigh. No, it doesn’t matter that they said 48 hours, tomorrow, Thursday, etc. These are just words. MyEir was to be down for 2 hours yesterday while they had their Christmas party. Doesn’t seem to be back yet. Must have been a great party. WFH not looking possible this week. 🤯

Menai Bridge closed in October due to issues with deck hangers. The Welsh Government was cagey about what, exactly, was wrong or when they knew.

After a protracted fight that began on the day the bridge closed to obtain information under #eir, Welsh Government has just caved-in to my contention that their stance of the engineering reports being exempt from disclosure would not survive legal scrutiny.
