Mike McCaffrey<p>Another example of why recent <a href="https://drupal.community/tags/Drupal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Drupal</span></a> module releases should not be trusted to be stable. The office_hours module had three separate releases in less than six hours, and the site I'm working on is still broken with the latest release.</p><p><a href="https://www.drupal.org/project/office_hours/issues/3514975" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">drupal.org/project/office_hour</span><span class="invisible">s/issues/3514975</span></a></p>
Mike Anello (ultimike)<p>This is a very ambitious <a href="https://drupal.community/tags/drupal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>drupal</span></a> initiative that I’ll be keeping a close eye on as well as rooting for their success!</p><p><a href="https://www.thedroptimes.com/46939/new-initiative-make-drupal-accessible-college-and-university-students" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">thedroptimes.com/46939/new-ini</span><span class="invisible">tiative-make-drupal-accessible-college-and-university-students</span></a></p><p>Creating and maintaining curriculum for something that moves as quickly as Drupal is really difficult.</p>
Mike McCaffrey<p>Okay, after some research, I think this might be the cleanest way to make sure you don't add an event listener to the window more than once in <a href="https://drupal.community/tags/Drupal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Drupal</span></a>. </p><p> if (once('my-resize', document.body)) {<br> window.addEventListener("resize", function (event) { });<br> }</p>
Mike McCaffrey<p>Still trying to figure out the "right" way to handle adding a resize event in a <a href="https://drupal.community/tags/Drupal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Drupal</span></a> theme behavior.</p><p>The core once function that was added in D10 does not support the window element, but the window element is the only element that fires a resize event.</p><p>How do I rewrite this?</p><p>once('my-resize', window).addEventListener("resize", function (event) {});</p>
Mike McCaffrey<p>Not ideal that <a href="https://drupal.community/tags/Drupal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Drupal</span></a> added a library for dragging and dropping things into core that is not keyboard accessible. </p><p>I guess that means that ckeditor, media_library, and layout_builder are not fully accessible (though I'm not sure how they all use the library), in addition to contrib modules like Paragraphs.</p><p>At least this guy who was so actively hostile to <a href="https://drupal.community/tags/accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>accessibility</span></a> has not contributed to SortableJS since 2018, so there is a chance that someone could add the functionality!</p>
