So, it seems the spam-bots fire up on Sundays. Without fail, I walk in to a ton of cleanup on my #Discourse forum every Monday morning. Glad Akismet/Discourse #AI catches the majority of it, but wow do I wish people had better things to do. #cmgr
Due to a bug in the #Discourse #ActivityPub plugin the image is included twice and with the wrong alt-text (the one that auto-generated on image upload).

What's a good #forum software to use?
I'm already familiar with #phpBB and #Discourse; want to know what else is out there that y'all actually would use and recommend.
Both #NodeBB and #Discourse offer #ActivityPub integration and have AP-themed forums / forum categories sync their federated content. Posting on a forum first has the advantage that it leaves a track record / archive (and has generally a better UI for discussions :)

@stefano @_elena A really decent, performant #OpenSource forum software such as #Flarum, #PhpBB, or #Discourse, is right there. Do any of your 350k subscribers have a #RaspberryPi 5 lying around (wth an NVME drive), and have expertise? Flarum or PhpBB would run performantly on it for a huge number of concurrent users. Where is your #OpenSource spirit, to take things into your own hands?

On a donc regardé des alternatives aux forums/ML/newsgroup/etc.
@geobabbler nous a fait découvrir #Zulip, et perso je suis complètement fan : ça impose de créer un nouveau sujet pour démarrer une discussion, comme sur un forum/ML/newsgroup, tout en gardant le côté temps réel. Pour du smalltalk c’est nul, mais c’est le job de Discord/Matrix/XMPP ça.
Sinon il y a #Discourse, si on veut une alternative plus « lente ».
